The Journal Kit is from Hot Off The Press. I'm making my version of the first journal using a composition book I purchased on sale and some ribbon and brads I had in my stash.
As you can see, the kit comes with beautiful papers and cut-outs to complete your projects. It has enough pages for three complete journals with plenty of pages and cut-outs left over for cards and/or scrapbooking.
Now from time to time, especially if you craft late at night, mistakes happen. See the rosebud closest to the edge of the page? Notice the slight discoloration? Yeah, I ripped it as I was trimming the paper. Then I thought I'd take a pink marker and try to blend it in but it's kind of hard to do when you're working with a black and white checked notebook! My solution?
And I know you've done this...I cut out a rosebud about the same size as the one I messed up from the scrap paper I had left over. Amazing something so tiny could make my mistake look like this...
...Now if you weren't looking for it, I doubt you would notice there had been a problem!
I added ribbon to the notebook. Cut out the tag and attached one of the sentiments along with ribbon and pearl adhesives. I cut a 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of checked paper and attached one of the cut outs to the center of it. I then attached that piece to cardstock for strength before adding the brads. Then I adhered the checked paper to the notebook and inserted the tag and we're done!
I hope this little project will encourage you to use what you have to make a cute journal to give as a gift or reward yourself!
Til next time....Be Blessed!
